Kaylin of the Caribbean :)

You mean as much to me as an empty bottle of water, as I stand alone in the desert of heartbreak. Even though there are a few drops left in that bottle, I won't, I can't touch it..because it'll make me want more, it'll increase my desperation, and I can't have that. I can't have that because a few drops of water was all you were willing to give me.. I know, because I've been there, been in that position of dehydration where you stood in front of me and laughed, as you handed a full bottle of water to someone else, someone I wished was me..
I'm human, and it was then when I realised, that's never gonna change.. Until now.. Until I threw that bottle away and got myself a chest. You can call me Mrs. Davy Jones if you like.. But I'll be this way, because you were my Calypso.. And as I sit here and wait for my very own Jack Sparrow to retrieve that hidden chest, I'll keep on making sure the key is still safe around my neck and watch as I transform into something unrecognisable, even to myself..
The best part about it all, is that I don't know where that empty bottle is now but the worst part, is that I threw it in a direction where someone else might pick it up and go through this too, as if it were a cycle..
I just hope and pray it's not you who picks it up and comes running back to me. Even though I'm strong in the face of pain, you are different.
But my God is a good God and HE cares! It'll be through Him and whatever happens, it's in His will and I trust Him.
So scratch that statement above, because you WERE different..

"I only hope that we don't lose sight of one thing — that it was all started by a mouse."

My title, a quote by Mr. Walter Elias Disney, a legendary man - a hero!

Even though my title gives off a message as if to say this post is purely based on animation or rather how it all started, that judgement call is incorrect. This post is about dreams..what it all means to me, and what it should mean to you.

I have dreams, we all do.. But it's what we do with it that counts, it's what we do with it that defines who we are! Life has many obstacles, I admit I am going through one myself.. Trying to be happy when you're not, is really a hard thing to do! But despite the pain and disappointment life sometimes throws in your face..it's our dreams that keep us smiling, even subconsciously.. Well, that's how it works for me.. And this is where animation comes in: an alternate reality that most of us wish we could live in.. I most certainly do!

Think about it.. Only in the world of animation can a million balloons lift a house from the ground, like seriously, how awesome would that be?? Only in the world of animation can a rat become the greatest chef on earth and a panda can save the world! Animation is a place full of imagination, and it's when we stop imagining/dreaming, that we really lose who we are, we really lose all meaning. For it was imagination that made it possible for us to witness how a group of toys can come to life and live an adventure of their own. Therefore, I say again, despite all the pain and disappointment life throws at me, I continue to dream, it's what keeps me going..

Finally we move on to what has been going on in my head for the past 3 all-nighters pulled ;) - Firstly, I haven't told her yet, but I most definitely wanna go to every theme park in the world, with my bestie animaniac, Kash. Along with that, we will stop in Redwood, California and put up our KAnimation 'stalltjie' right outside Pixar Studios.. As she begins to animate what will be among the world's greatest films, I'll sit and design the console games to follow.. And as we sit and bask in the ambiance of awesomeness around us, we'll watch the dull life pass us by and create our own world, our own Disneyland. Another dream is to visit Italy, whether it be with Coley* and Kash, my family or on my own, I AM GOING! The Colosseum has always fascinated and interested me.. It's beautiful and it features in my fav film, Gladiator! Along with that, the Acropolis Hills in Athens, Christ the Redeemer in Brazil and the Eiffel Tower in Paris - after all, I have to see what Remy was going on about!

Right now though, my family is to thank for the smile i manage to keep on my face! My dad - the dream achiever, no matter what the circumstance and the greatest role-model in accomplishing success. My mom - the silent dreamer and hands down the greatest mother anyone could ask for! My brother...well..umm.. lol kidding :) - He's blind to how fortunate he is.. And I think it's that 'never satisfied' attitude that'll keep him dreaming! My dogs, well, if they could talk, they'd be able to tell you with 100% certainty that they know me better than anyone! Wierd to you but necessary to me, I talk to my dogs about everything! I guess that makes me different, makes me weird too but oh how i love wierdness :)

Last but not least, please people, don't ever give up your dreams. You can change them, add to them, lose some, gain some, but don't ever give it up. For dreams are what make us human. We all need it to cope with life.. So next time someone asks you, "where do you wanna be in 10 years?" Don't say prison, but rather let your mind soar far and beyond the norm.. You won't regret it :)

My LOVE for movies!

If I could be a film critic or someone who gets paid to watch movies, I'd be happy for the rest of my life! I LOVE movies and that is why I wouldn't mind pursuing a career in this field.

I like the idea that movies can express anything. It is an alternate reality that can move you emotionally and even mentally, and open your eyes to new ideas, exposing you to a different perspective on life. Movies are like any other art form; first and foremost it is about expression. It is a combination of creative ideas and technology to create the finished project that will captivate others. I have always found movie-making intriguing. My love for technology, animation, computers and the people who make it happen, is the reason I wake up with a smile on my face. I know, no matter what, today I will watch a movie, TV or an episode of a great series with joy in my heart, and my day will have been made and completed.

As I sit in the movie theatre, my eyes are dazzled and sort've hypnotised by the the explosions, car chases, fist fights, freaky-looking aliens, true love stories, hilarious jokes and sarcasm that are presented. I tend to grab the arm rests of my seat when it comes to really great movies because I'm so captivated by it, that I think I might just black out due to the overexposure of pure awesomeness.  When I pay my R45, (R60 for 3D) to sit at the middle row of a movie theatre, I always look forward to these thrills and excitements that the movie will sure give me. The excitement from watching movies is so electrifying, that I would not even be aware of my popcorn or Creme Soda disappearing! But hey, no getting ideas, you thieves!

However, when picking a movie out of 5 possible great ones, I always tend to go for the Action genre. What is different about Action movies is that it makes me wanna scream out loud and run around like a crazy person. What can I say, it gets me :) Whether it's Shia Labeouf acting the hell outta TRANSFORMERS, Hugh Jackman making X-MEN what it is or Tom Cruise doing another one of those Impossible Missions, Action movies are just awesome! Not only do these movies give us a reason to leave the house, or rather give me a reason lol, it brings colour to my sometimes black and white life.

However, don't get me wrong, there are many different genres I like, and some movies are so great that putting them into a genre is simply impossible. Unless there is a genre like, "FLIPPEN AWESOME" that I don't know about. I don't have a favourite genre because I like all movies with soul and meaning. I despise the predictable and useless films that some directors feel the need to torture us with today. Films such as Step Up 3, Honey 2 and someone better stop me from going on to talk about Twilight. My word, I'd rather watch paint dry, which is very entertaining, so I've heard lol. But enough about the boring, let's move on to something with flavour.

I've tried creating a top 10 movie list, but do you know how hard that is to do?? I never end because there are so many great films out there. I've started with a list of great directors, and I'm getting somewhere on that, thank goodness. I always tend to make lists, for some odd and unknown reason. I have a new and awesome friend at college, who is actually a lecturer, but yeah, he is like my inspiration when it comes to knowledge of what's good and what's not. We have our differences like I know for a fact that Batman is thee greatest superhero and he is a Superman fan. Well, if Superman's death brought a tear to my eye, I too would be a fan lol. But hey I'll post that list up sometime, just for the fun of it and to bring some life into this blog :)

Anyway, time to chuck. Need thy beauty sleep :) I kinda feel like a masala steak gatsby right now with a Spur bar-one milkshake on the side. Woah, that'll be like so0 yummy right now haha..
